HAPPY NEW YEAR! – A LOOK BACK AT THE BIGGEST HOUSE PRICE RISES FOR 2017

An interesting read to start the year, Halifax data reported on the BBC news website suggested that Bournemouth has seen the second largest rise in house prices over 2017 in the UK, at a reassuring 11.7%. With Cheltenham in first place (13%) and Brighton in 3rd place (11.3%).  The average increase in house prices across the UK was 2.7%, according to the Halifax which bases the figures on its own mortgage data.

We’ve certainly seen more competition in the housing market and would hope to see continuation in this with the new stamp duty changes imposed by the government for first time buyers.
